Releasing new software was once considered risky. By implementing CD, we confront the fragility and improve engineering resilience by delivering new software constantly and automatically. At Yahoo, we built a tool called Screwdriver that enabled us to implement CD at incredible scale. In 2016, Yahoo open sourced <a href="https://t.umblr.com/redirect?z=http%3A%2F%2Fscrewdriver.cd%2F&amp;t=YWFkYjhkNWYxMTBhMDhjNjA2NjY2ZjBkNzM0M2VjODIwYjNiNDlkYixMMGk1VHc4ZA%3D%3D&amp;b=t%3AYqGumMGxvMNvAG4ZAKKWLQ&amp;p=https%3A%2F%2Fyahooeng.tumblr.com%2Fpost%2F155765242061%2Fopen-sourcing-screwdriver-yahoos-continuous&amp;m=0">Screwdriver.cd</a>, a streamlined build system designed to enable Continuous Delivery to production at scale for dynamic infrastructure.<br/></p><p>In the spirit of open source and community, <a href="https://developer.yahoo.com/opensource/">Verizon Media’s Open Source</a> and Screwdriver teams (formerly Yahoo) started the <a href="https://www.meetup.com/Bay-Area-CICD-and-DevOps-Meetup/">Bay Area CI/CD and DevOps Meetup</a> to build and grow community around continuous delivery.
