Yahoo! Contacts API
The Yahoo! Contacts API is a member of the YOS Social family of APIs that enables your application to leverage the social relationships that exist in the Yahoo! Address Book. With this API, you will be able to create mailing lists for invitations, look up specific addresses to assist with communications such as email, instant messaging, SMS or even plain old postal mail. With the Contacts API you'll be able to help users leverage the relationships they've already built in a manner that respects user privacy and permissions.

Overview
Typical uses of the Yahoo! Contacts API include e-mail address and contact look up, social network invitations, phone number look up for mobile messaging and postal addressees for shopping and photo sharing services.
The Contacts API enables you to construct a search and return contact records that match a certain set of criteria based on attribute values.
