Yahoo! Local Search APIs offer you a way to connect with the wealth of data in Yahoo! Local — including ratings and comments made by Yahoo! users. The content in Yahoo! Local makes a great addition to any mashup, bringing in location-based relevancy and the additional context of what real people have experienced in these places. Add Yahoo! Local content to your application or mashup with either of our two APIs.

Local Search APIs give you access to a comprehensive database of information and content.
Version 3 of Yahoo! Local Search adds even more features! You can now request individual business records by using the Yahoo! Local listing id. We also support search categories to help you narrow your queries. Finally, results now return the first few lines of the last user review for each listing.
Version 2 extends the depth of the queries by adding two new interesting features. Queries now return the latitude-longitude of the establishments for easy plotting on a map, which is perfect for integration with the new Yahoo! Maps APIs. Also useful is the new ability to layer the ratings each business has received from Yahoo! users, diving in deep to this additional context on the results from Yahoo! Local.
Version 1 returns a list of establishments in proximity to a given location. Queries return data on each business, including address, phone, simple aggregate Yahoo! user rating, along with a link to display the location on a Yahoo! Map.
The Yahoo! Local Search Web Services are limited to 5,000 queries per IP per day and to non-commercial use. See information on rate limiting and our Usage Policy to learn about acceptable uses and how to request additional queries.
