writing query in url

hi guys,
as you know i can put a YQL query directly in an url, making like this:

http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql?q=USE 'http://yql.altervista.org/twitter.xml' AS me SELECT * FROM me where (q='stefano' or q='java') and iso_language_code='it';

but if i put in the query the character '%' the query doesn't work.
for example : http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql?q=USE 'http://yql.altervista.org/twitter.xml' AS me SELECT * FROM me where (q='stefano' or q='java') and iso_language_code='it' and from_user like '%tony%'; doesn't work.

how can i do to make the query work?
thanks!

    make sure you fully escape the URL. % is a special character so it needs to be escaped to %25
