getting stock options data

I'm trying to use YQL to get stock options data and all I seem to be able to do is get the current series, i.e. April expiration.

The following - select * from yahoo.finance.options where symbol in ("YHOO") - will get me the current expiration but I can't figure out how to get other expirations.

  • No one has any idea how to get at expirations other then the current? Seems odd that Yahoo would offer just the current expiration and none that are further out.

That table is not provided by Yahoo but by an external developer into our open data table repository. Only the tables that are loaded by "default" are provided by Yahoo.

  • So the data that comes from yahoo.finance.options isn't provided by Yahoo? If "no", is there some way to track them down? I'd like to find the data, end-of-day would be fine, so all I'm looking for is a hint to send me in the right direction.

  • You can see the source of the table here:
    http://www.datatables.org/yahoo/finance/ya...ance.quotes.xml

It looks like the data is coming from a finance.yahoo data source. Considering there's no author credit given in the table, if you'd like to make a change to the table's output, you'll need to do it yourself. To do this, please clone the yql-tables project in github, as described on the datatables.org site, make the change, and send us a pull request describing what you did.

If the data source actually doesn't provide the information you need, please contact Yahoo! Finance via their help resource:

    Best regards
