IP Location Returns 0 Results

Just recently YQL calls to get geodata via IP has been returning 0 results for all IPs.

My YQL looks like this:

USE "http://www.datatables.org/iplocation/ip.location.xml" AS ip.location;
SELECT * FROM ip.location WHERE ip="98.124.129.82"

I used to get good results but now I get this:

<query yahoo:count="0" yahoo:created="2010-11-15T20:12:51Z" yahoo:lang="en-US">

<diagnostics>
<publiclyCallable>true</publiclyCallable>

<url execution-time="1" proxy="DEFAULT">
http://www.datatables.org/iplocation/ip.location.xml
</url>
<url execution-time="20" proxy="DEFAULT">http://ipinfodb.com/ip_query.php?ip=98.124.129.82</url>
<user-time>26</user-time>
<service-time>21</service-time>
<build-version>9597</build-version>
</diagnostics>
<result>

Any ideas?

  • It looks like their api has moved to

    http://api.ipinfodb.com/v2/ip_query.php?ke...;timezone=false

    if you run the query with a debug=true query parameter it shows the MOVED response. We'll need to fix the data tables to go to the new endpoint.

  • Hi Nagesh,

    Any ideas when this will be fixed ?

    Is there anything I can do to get around the problem or is it something that Yahoo need to change in the table definition ?

    Currently location based on IP address is not available in our application.

    Dave.
