Get YQL Diagnostics Data Using Rest Query

How can I get the diagnostics information out of YQL rest query?

I am executing the simple query below in YQL Console, and I want to get the "diagnostics" portion of the data in my application. How can I do that?

As far as I can see, this query gives me only the "results" part for html table, right?

select * from html where url="http://google.com/" and xpath='//head/title'

Thanks

  • With the console, you have to turn on the Diagnostics checkbox. If you click in The Rest Query box at the bottom of the page, right-click, choose Copy from your web browser's popup menu, your clipboard will now contain:

    <http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql?q=select%20>*%20from%20html%20where%20url%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fgoogle.com%2F%22%20and%20xpath%3D'%2F%2Fhead%2Ftitle'&diagnostics=true

Notice the &diagnostics=true appended to the end of the query.

  • Yes. Diagnostics should be set to true. I have figured that out thank you very much. Unfortunatelly some documentation still says diagnostics is true by default, which is not correct at the moment.
