I want my application like that -

A user who logged in yahoo only that person can access my application and any after done the job a mail will be send to that person 'automatically'. Here the problem lies- In profile Yahoo is not providing Yahoo ID. So how can I get to know that who logged in my application and how I get Yahoo ID of that person.

  • Hi Pijush,

The profile system (profiles.yahoo.com) doesn't work off of a Yahoo! ID (YID) system. Instead, the unique identifier for a profile user is a GUID (Globally Unique Identifier). This does not directly reference a YID from a property unless the property itself defines the link. Here's a little bit more about GUID's: http://developer.yahoo.com/social/rest_api...ices-guids.html. That is the identifier that you'll probably want to work with.

  • Hey Pijush,

I believe that Nagesh answered that one here: http://developer.yahoo.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=841. Using a GUID, you won't be able to get the e-mail address / id of a user as it's not supported for security / spamming reasons.
