  • Hi shadabpiyu,

    Yahoo! is currently testing sreg support. You can query email address via sreg if your site has been included in a "beta" whitelist. If you are just trying to parse the id from a generic identifier, then it becomes more difficult. The user has the option of using their machine generated id, which masks the actual yid (email id). I would suggest that you wait for the sreg beta testing to be completed to use sreg to request email id.

    Hello there,

    I'd like to ask if Yahoo is still testing the stuff? Can I now fetch users email id to use in my application?
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • I'm using openid4java and I cannot fetch personName, or email, or picture, anything. Is this still beta? Will it be possible to add "localhost" as a test-host, so developers can work on integration?

    Thanks

    Indeed, adding "localhost" would be great!
    +1

    Also, is there a timeline for sreg extension becoming public?

  • hi,
    is there any parameter to append in yahoo open id url so that the response comes with the user's email address and some extra information.

  • You can request user email and other fields via Simple Registration OpenID extension. Right now, sreg support is in test mode and not yet available to the public. We will notify the community once we have completed testing.

  • You might want to ping Yahoo! Mail help or Customer Care on your issue if you are not able to find answers via other sources.

  • Any updates on opening up sreg support to fetch email to public? I guess RPX (https://rpxnow.com/) is in your beta whitelist since the UI widget provided by RPX fetches my email when i login to yahoo using their widget. How can I request my site be added to the beta whitelist?

    Thank you :)

  • You can send an email to openid-feedback@yahoo-inc.com to be added to the wait list. We periodically add sites to the test whitelist.

  • Hi Amar,

    We don't support SREG for new sites any more. We encourge all
    OpenID RPs to use AX instead. We currently support the following
    attributes within the axschema.org namespace:

    "nickname" => "http://axschema.org/namePerson/friendly",
    "fullname" => "http://axschema.org/namePerson",
    "email" => "http://axschema.org/contact/email",
    "gender" => "http://axschema.org/person/gender",
    "language" => "http://axschema.org/pref/language",
    "timezone" => "http://axschema.org/pref/timezone",
    "image" => "http://axschema.org/media/image/default"

    Hi Yu Wang,

    I need your help in "How to use Attribute Exchange" and get user's email.
    Found a code here : http://code.google.com/p/dotnetopenid/ but it is implemented only for Google. I need to do it for yahoo.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Varun,

    The DotNetOpenAuth library does support Yahoo! AX and you can get
    the latest one here:
    http://www.dotnetopenauth.net/

    It powers the http://test-id.org/ site and you can verify that
    it works with Yahoo! AX implementation by trying with your Yahoo!
    OpenID on this page:
    http://test-id.org/OP/AXFetch.aspx

    Please open a new topic if you face specific issue with integrating
    with Yahoo! AX implementation.

    Thanks,
    Yu Wang
