  • There was a recent system upgrade to the verification step that should have resolved this issue - please let me know if you continue to experience any issues with this.

  • Hi, Jon

I meet the same problem that my application for new API key can't be verified

my site doesn't have it hostname yet, so it uses IP directly

could you help me find out where the problems are?

  • Hi, Jon

I found out the reason from here
    http://developer.yahoo.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=535

    "Hi there,

Yahoo requires that you have a proper DNS hostname for your webserver, IP addresses are not supported. To verify your domain, please use your webserver's hostname, and also make suer you run it on port 80.

    Allen"

it seems not good news to developers without DNS hostnames :(could you help me find out where the problems are?

  • Yeah, there are several restrictions to URLs that can be used, which are:
    - Must have a valid hostname
    - No custom ports
    - Must be publicly accessible

And a few things about the information that you enter into the title and description:
    - Y! is restricted
    - Yahoo! or variations are restricted
