My company works with a bunch of newspapers to service their video needs. We control their video players and we want to make sure that our video player is "APT compatible." I've looked through the API docs a bit and it doesn't look like there's anything ready for video (outside of standalone Flash ads that may contain video). I see there's a creative type of video, but that looks like it pertains only to these standalone Flash ads. Is that correct? Are video creatives (standalone FLVs) far off in the product? Should we build some support to pull in flash video ads from APT into our player? That seems a bit messy.
Would like more information about how video ads will be serviced and how we (and other video platform providers like Brightcove, thePlatform, etc.) can make sure we're ready for APT.
I was under the impression he was referring to video advertisement (i.e; preroll) as a workable creative. For example, we're doing IAB's VAST specifications for video pre-roll and companion ads. However, I don't hear much about how to even get a campaign into APT and test our player with the APT service let allow if we can do VAST in APT.
The best thing for you to do is work directly with the client that has a seat on APT and have them ask their Account Manager to connect you with our Video Professional Services team and they'll be best equipped to field any video-specific questions that you may have.
