can't retrieve all contacts

Hello,

I am using the following uri to retrieve Yahoo! user contacts:

http://social.yahooapis.com/v1/user/{guid}...tacts?count=max

Docs say that count=max should return all contacts but the response contains only 2 out of my 7 contacts!

Am I missing a parameter or something?

Thanks,
Alexandros

  • May I ask you what did you do in order to retrieve contacts? I'm getting a "token rejected" error every time... did you experience this error, too, and if so, how did you solve it?
Did you use the "xoauth_yahoo_guid" as user GUID?

    Thank you!

    Hi Marco,

    thanks for your reply.

Yes, I am using the "xoauth_yahoo_guid" from the token exchange responses as user GUID.

I've implemented my consumer in Java using Fernando Pablo's scribe from (http://github.com/fernandezpablo85/scribe). I was getting the token rejected error as well but it when't away as soon as I upgraded to scribe's latest version. I think this error has to do with tokens being url encoded but I am not sure If thats the case with Yahoo! Thankfully Pablo has figured this out for me :-)

Good luck with finding a solution.

    Hey Alex,
thank you so much for confirming the xoauth_yahoo_guid "usage".
Unfortunately, I'm developing my web app in .NET. By taking a quick look at the Java code, I was able to see that, more or less, I'm doing the same things, but still get the "token_rejected" error, so I really don't know what's going wrong behind the scenes...

same thing... only the first 2 of my 76 contacts are returned!

    thanks for the reply Nick.

  • @M I: you must supply for GET method parameter is: 'format' => 'json'. Your link is look likes 'http://social.yahooapis.com/v1/user/{guid}/contacts?format=json'. And supply Oauth consumer Access Token key for GET method.
I have a problem with contacts API. I want to get contacts 's guid. But in my results, my contacts have guid and rest of my contacts don't have guild. I want all my contacts have guid but I don't know how ? Can you help me? Sorry for my poor English.
