Bulk Upload Data

Use the information on this page for guidance when you populate an Excel template for bulk uploading campaigns, packages and lines into DSP. See Bulk Uploads with Excel.

Bulk Upload Campaign Data

The Bulk_Import_Template columns on the Campaigns workheet provide space for you to enter or edit all of the required and optional data you’ll need to create and manage campaigns and lines using Excel. To successfully use the template to create and manage campaigns, be sure to include only data that DSP will accept.

See the following table for guidance on what to enter in each column.

Campaign ID Optional For new campaigns, leave this column blank; DSP generates a new campaign ID for you.
Campaign Name Required A campaign name of any length.
Campaign Status Optional Active or Inactive; defaults to Inactive.
Currency Optional

Enter one of the following three-letter currency codes; supported codes include:

Multiple Schedule Optional Enter ‘Yes’ if the campaign includes campaign schedules; DSP does not fully support Excel uploads of campaign schedules at this time, so you will need to set up the flight dates in the UI.
Start Date Required Enter the campaign start date in the format MM/DD/YYYY
End Date Required Enter the campaign end date in the format MM/DD/YYYY
Total Budget Required The total budget for the campaign; DSP does not support Excel uploads of unlimited campaign budgets at this time.
Daily Budget Type Optional Enter ‘No Daily Budget’ or ‘Specified Amount’
Daily Budget Optional Enter a numeric amount, such as 500 or 10000
Demo data provider (Video) Optional Oath, Comscore, or Nielsen
Frequency Capping Duration Optional Minutes, Hourly, Daily, Monthly, or Weekly
Frequency Capping Value Optional Enter the number of impressions per <Duration>
Has Packages Optional Enter YES if the campaign includes packages, or NO if it does not.

Bulk Upload Package Data

The Bulk_Import_Template columns on the Packages worksheet list out all the required and optional data you’ll need to add or edit if your bulk upload includes packages. To successfully use the template to create and manage packages, be sure to include only data that DSP will accept. Refer to the following table for guidance on what to enter in each column.

Campaign Name Optional The name of the campaign associated with the package.
Package ID Optional For new packages, leave this column blank; DSP generates a new package ID for you.
Package Name Required A name for the package (up to 255 characters).
Package Status Optional Active or Inactive; defaults to Inactive.
Start Date Required Enter the package start date in the format MM/DD/YYYY
End Date Optional Enter the package end date in the format MM/DD/YYYY
Total Budget Required The total budget for the package; DSP does not support Excel uploads of unlimited package budgets at this time.
Daily Budget Optional Enter a numeric amount, such as 500 or 10000

Campaign Name Optional The name of the campaign associated with the line.
Package Id Required If the line includes a package, the Package Id is required.

Line ID Optional For new lines, leave this column blank; DSP generates the line ID for you.
Line Name Required A name for the line (up to 255 characters).
Line Status Optional Active or Inactive; defaults to Inactive.
Line Type Required Video, Display or Audio
Channel Type Optional For CTV and DOOH lines only; enter CTV or DOOH.
Household Frequency Cap Enabled Optional Enter TRUE to enable frequency capping at the household level for the line; leave blank or enter FALSE if you don’t want frequency capping at the household level.
Native Required TRUE if it’s a native line, FALSE if it’s not a native line.
Start Date Required Enter the line start date in the format MM/DD/YYYY
End Date Optional Enter the line end date in the format MM/DD/YYYY
Billing Method Optional Enter ‘oCPM’; DSP supports Excel uploads of oCPM-billed lines only.
Billing Price Optional Enter a number to specify the billing price for the line.
Profit Margin Optional Enter a number that represents the profit margin percentage for oCPM billing.
Margin Type Optional For fixed oCPM-billed lines, enter the margin type (Total Budget or Buyer Cost).
Budget Type Optional Enter the budget type (Currency or Impression).
Total Budget Required Enter a number a number that represents the total budget amount for the line.
Total Impressions Required Required for impression-based budgeting. Enter the number of impressions you want to buy.
Daily Budget Type Optional Enter ‘Auto Allocated’ or ‘Specified Amount’
Daily Impressions Optional For Specified Amount budget types on lines with impression-based budgeting, specify the number of daily impressions you want to budget for.
Daily Budget Optional Enter a number that represents the daily budget amount.
Goal Type Required Enter one of the following: CPC, CPA, VCPM, Minimize eCPM, Max Viewability, ROAS, or None.
Goal Mode Required For CPC, CPCV, CPCL, VCPM and CPI lines, enter the goal mode (HARD or SOFT).
CPM Price Required Enter one of the following: CPC, CPA, VCPM, Minimize eCPM, Max Viewability, ROAS, or None.
Target Goal Required The target bid price in currency for all goal types (except Minimize eCPM, Maximize Viewability, Maximize CTR, Maximize Completion, or CPI for video lines). The threshold percentage for lines with AVOC Rate or Completion Rate goals.
Max Goal Required The maximum bid price when the billing method is Fixed CPM and the goal type is CPC, CPA, VCPM, ROAS, CPCV, or CPCL.
Viewability Standard Required The viewability percentage. Mandatory for fixed-CPM billed lines with viewability goals.
Pacing Optional Enter ‘EVEN’, ‘AHEAD’, or ‘ASAP’
Pacing Acceleration Optional For AHEAD pacing, type a number representing the pacing acceleration percentage.
Pixel Id (Rule Id) Optional Enter the numeric pixel Id value.
Pixel Value Optional Enter a monetary value for the pixel (the value of the conversion to the advertiser).
Click Window Optional Enter ‘Days’, ‘Hours’, or ‘Minutes’ to specify the unit of time for tracking click conversions.
Click Value Optional Enter a numeric value to specify the number of days, hours or minutes after the click that the click conversion is tracked.
View Window Optional Enter ‘Days’, ‘Hours’, or ‘Minutes’ to specify the unit of time for tracking impression conversions.
View Value Optional Enter a numeric value to specify the number of days, hours or minutes after the impression that the impression conversion is tracked.
Demographic: Gender Optional To include gender targeting, enter ‘ALL’, ‘MALE’, ‘FEMALE’, or ‘UNKNOWN’
Demographic: Age Optional To include age targeting, enter ‘ALL’, 18-20, 21-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-64, 65+ or ‘UNKNOWN’
Demographic: In-Target Audience Composition Optional If you selected comScore or Nielsen as your data verification vendor for video campaigns, specify one of the following in-target delivery threshold percentages: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, or 80.
Demographic: Household Targeting Enabled. Optional Specify TRUE if you want targeting to be applied at the household level or FALSE if you want targeting to be applied at the device level.
Include Location: Country Optional A comma-separated list of any coutries you want to target. For a list of supported countries, check out Geographic Targeting Locations.
Include Location: State Optional A semicolon-separated list of any states you want to target (within countries); for example: Nevada, United States; Limburg, Belgium.
Include Location: City Optional A comma-separated list of any cities you want to target.
Include Location: DMA Optional A comma-separated list of DMAs you want to target. For a list of supported DMAs, check out Geographic Targeting Locations.
Zip Code Country Optional A comma-separated list of of any countries in which you want to target zip codes. For a list of countries for which zip code targeting is supported, check out Geographic Targeting Locations.
Include Location: Zip Code Optional A comma-separated list of zip or postal codes you want to target.
Exclude Location: State Optional A semicolon-separated list of any states you want to exclude from targeting (within countries); for example: New York, United States; Aquitaine, France.
Exclude Location: City Optional A comma-separated list of any cities you want to exclude from targeting.
Exclude Location: DMA Optional A comma-separated list of DMAs you want to exclude from targeting. For a list of supported DMAs, check out Geographic Targeting Locations.
Exclude Location: Zip Code Optional A comma-separated list of zip or postal codes you want to target.
Include Audience Id Optional For audience targeting, a comma-separated list of the audience Ids you want to target.
Include Audience Names Optional For audience targeting, a comma-separated list of the audience names you want to target.
Include Audience Id (group B) Optional For audience targeting, a comma-separated list of the audience Ids you want to target.
Include Audience Names (group B) Optional For audience targeting, a comma-separated list of the audience names you want to target.
Exclude Audience Id Optional For audience targeting, a comma-separated list of the audience Ids you want to exclude from targeting.

Frequency Capping Duration Optional For frequency capping, type the name of of an interval (‘Unlimited’, ‘Minutes’, ‘Hourly’, ‘Daily’, ‘Weekly’, or ‘Monthly’).
Frequency Capping Value Optional For frequency capping, type a numeric value for the maximum number of impressions served to a user during the frequency capping interval.
Frequency Capping Only Serve to Known Users Optional Enter ‘TRUE’ to restrict serving to users known to Oath, or ‘FALSE’ to serve to both known and unknown users.
Device Type Optional For device targeting, a comma-separated list of devices to target (supported values include ‘Desktop’, ‘Phone’, ‘Tablet’, ‘Connected TV’, and ‘Unkknown’).
Desktop OS Optional For device targeting, a comma-separated list of operating systems to target (supported values include ‘Mac’,’Windows’, ‘Linux’, and ‘Other’).
Browsers Optional For device targeting, a comma-separated list of browsers to target (supported values include ‘Firefox’, ‘Safari’, ‘Chrome’, ‘Internet Explorer’, ‘Edge’, and ‘Other’).
Mobile OS Optional For device targeting, a comma-separated list of mobile operating systems to target (supported values include ‘iOS’, ‘Android’, ‘Rim’, ‘Windows’, and ‘Other’).
Mobile OS Versions Optional A semicolon-separated list of iOS and android version ranges. For example: ios:2.0;android:1.5-4.4

Enter a comma-separated list of languages to target users according to browser language; supported languages include:

Viewability Vendor Optional For lines that target viewability, enter Oath, Moat, IAS, IAS (Publicis), IAS (GroupM), or DoubleVerify.
Viewability % Optional For lines that target viewability, enter a numeric value between 0-100 to specify the viewability percentage.
Viewability Target Id Optional For lines that target viewability, a numeric value that represents the target Id.
Viewability Target Name Optional The name of the viewability target as defined by the viewability vendor, such as “Target up to 40% viewability for display campaigns” or “All Display Sizes - 80% or Higher Viewability Rate.
Inventory Auction Type Optional For lines that target an auction type, select “First Price” or “Second Price” from the drop-down list.
Ad Position Optional For display ad position targeting. a comma-separated list of values (All, Above Fold, Partial View, Below Fold, or Unknown).
Mobile Placement Type Optional For mobile placement targeting. a comma-separated list of values (All, Interstitial, or Rewarded).
Player Size Optional For video player size targeting. a comma-separated list of values (Small, Medium, Large, or Unknown).
Ad Initiation Optional For ad initiation targeting. a comma-separated list of values (Auto Initiated, User Initiated, or Unknown).
Video Content Length Optional For video content length targeting, a comma-separated list of values (Up to 2 mins, 2-5 mins, 5-30 mins, More than 30 mins, or Unknown).
Video Ad Placement Optional For video ad placement targeting, a comma-separated list of values (All, In Stream, Out Stream, or Unknown).
Weather Condition Optional For weather condition targeting, a comma-separated list of values (All, Snowy, Rainy, Windy, Cloudy, Sunny , or Stormy).
Weather Time Frame Optional For weather condition targeting, select Real Time or Forecasted from the drop-down list.
Weather Temperature Range Optional For weather condition targeting, type the temperature range in the format C: 20-30 or F: 60-90.
Connection Type Optional For connection type targeting, enter Wi-Fi or Cellular.
Include ISP Optional For ISP targeting, type the name of the ISP you want to target, such as Verizon or Time Warner Cable.
Exclude ISP Optional For ISP targeting, type the name of the ISP you want to exclude, such as Verizon or Time Warner Cable.
Include Mobile Carrier Optional For mobile carrier targeting, type the name of the carrier you want to target, such as Verizon or Sprint.
Exclude Mobile Carrier Optional For mobile carrier targeting, type the name of the carrier you want to exclude, such as Verizon or Sprint.
Creative Id Optional To attach creatives to the line, enter a comma-separated list of creative Ids.
Creative Names Optional To attach creatives to the line, enter a comma-separated list of creative names.
Bid Multiplier Cap Optional Specify a numeric value representing the maximum multiplied CPM, such as 3.
Budget Distributor Optional Specify ON or OFF to enable or disable the budget distributor.

Bulk Upload Bid Multipliers

The Bulk_Import_Template columns on the BidMultipliers worksheet list out all the required and optional data you’ll need to add or edit if your bulk upload includes bid multipliers.

Important

Bid multipliers are only applied to line Ids that are listed on the Lines worksheet.

To successfully use the template to create and manage bid multipliers, be sure to include only data that DSP will accept. Refer to the following table for guidance on what to enter in each column.

Bid Multiplier Id Optional For new bid multipliers, leave this column blank; DSP generates a new bid multiplier ID for you.
Line Id Optional

Bid multipliers are only applied to line Ids that are listed on the Lines worksheet. If a Line Id is not listed on the Lines worksheet, the bid multiplier will not be applied to it, even if you specify a Line Id on the Bid Multipliers worksheet.

To apply bid multipliers to a specific line, provide the line Id. If you leave the Line Id cell blank for a particular row, the bid multiplier is applied to all line Ids on the Lines worksheet. For new lines, leave this column blank; DSP will generate the line Id for you.

Multiplier Target Type Required

Bulk Upload User Groups

For user groups, each Excel row represents a subgroup. For example, if there are two subgroups within a user group, there will be two rows containing the same User Group name.

Rule Id The pixel Id.
Rule Name The name of the pixel.
