Bulk Edit Creatives

Bulk edit creatives when you want to make the same changes to many creatives of the same type. You can bulk edit image or video creatives from the Creatives page or the Ads page. test

Get Started with Bulk Editing

To get started with bulk editing, you navigate to the page for editing multiple creatives. There, you see the Bulk Edit button.

To get started with bulk editing:

  1. Navigate to the Creatives page (to see an advertiser’s images) or the Ads page (to see images associated with a line). If you need help navigating to the Creatives page or the Ads page, check out Creatives or Ads.
  2. Select the creatives to edit by clicking the checkboxes to the left of the creatives.
  3. Select Edit Multiple from the Actions menu.

You see a page for editing multiple creatives.

  1. Select the checkboxes for the creatives you want to bulk edit.
  2. Click the Bulk Edit button.

You see the Edit Multiple Creatives overlay.

Bulk Edit Creative Names

You can update creative names for many creatives at once. Bulk editing of names is additive. That means that you can “prepend” (add text to the beginning of) or append (add text to the end of) the image names but you cannot remove text from the names.

To edit creative names:

  1. Select the Creative Name tab on the Edit Multiple Creatives overlay.
  2. To add a common string at the beginning or end of all the creative names, do one or both of the following:
  • Type the text you want to add to the beginning of the names in the Prepend to name field.
  • Type the text you want to append to the end of the names in the Append to name field.

You see an example of your new naming conventions.

  1. If you are finished with your bulk update, click Update.

Bulk Edit the Click Through URL

You can assign the same click through URL to many hosted display or video creatives at once. The click through URL is the URL that redirects users to the final landing page. This URL can be a click tracker or regular landing page URL. Specifying a click through URL is required for hosted creatives.

Some SSPs require a declared advertiser domain when they register an ad or respond to an ad request. If the advertiser domain differs from the ad content or landing page, the SSP may assume the ad is fraudulent and block the ad from serving.

Important

Bulk editing of the click through URL is not additive. That means that you will completely change the URL across all the selected ads.

To bulk edit the click-through URL:

  1. Select the Click Through URL tab on the Edit Multiple Creatives overlay.
  2. Type the click through URL in the Click Through URL field.
  3. Click anywhere on the page, outside the Click Through URL field.

DSP validates the URL and displays a success message or error message. If the URL is validated, DSP fills in the landing page URL automatically.

  1. If you are finished with your bulk update, click Update.

Bulk Edit the Landing Page URL

You can optionally assign the same landing page URL to many third party display or video creatives at once. The landing page URL is the domain that corresponds to the final landing page for your ad. Specifying a landing page URL is optional for third-party creatives, but recommended to avoid being blocked by certain exchanges.

To bulk edit the landing page URL:

  1. Select the Landing Page URL tab on the Edit Multiple Creatives overlay.
  2. Type the landing page URL in the Landing Page URL field.
  3. Click anywhere on the page, outside the Landing Page URL field.

DSP checks the URL to make sure it is not a click tracker, and displays a success message or error message. If the URL is validated, DSP fills in the validated landing page URL automatically.

  1. If you are finished with your bulk update, click Update.

Note

The Landing Page URL field is not mandatory. If you leave this field blank, the DSP Creative Tester fills it in automatically as part of the creative audit.

Bulk Edit the Ad Size

You can set the ad sizes for many display creatives at once. Bulk editing of ad sizes is not additive. That means that you completely change the ad size across all the selected ads.

To bulk edit the ad size:

  1. Select the Ad Size tab on the Edit Multiple Creatives overlay.
  2. Edit the ad size. Select a different ad size from the dropdown list.
  3. If you are finished with your bulk update, click Update.

Bulk Edit the Tracking Pixels

You can add one or more tracking pixels to many creatives at once. Tracking pixels are third-party pixels that track the number of clicks or impressions served. You can replace existing pixels and add new pixels in bulk across all the selected images.

To bulk edit the tracking pixels:

  1. Select the Tracking Pixels tab on the Edit Multiple Creatives overlay.
  2. If you want to remove a current pixel, click the remove icon on the right side of the pixel.
  3. If you want to add a new pixel, click the Add Tracking URL link.
  4. Type the URL for the pixel in the Tracking URL field.
  5. Select the tracking pixel type from the Type dropdown list. Do one of the following:
  • For image creatives, select Click or Impression from the Type menu.
  • For video creatives, select Impression or a viewability value.

Select one of the following:

  • Impression - tracks the number of users who see a video impression.
  • 25% - tracks the number of users who watched 25% of the video.
  • 50% - tracks the number of users who watched 50% of the video.
  • 75% - tracks the number of users who watched 75% of the video.
  • 100% - tracks the number of users who watched 100% of the video.
  1. Decide if the pixels you add are adding are in addition to any existing pixels, or replace all pixels.

Do one of the following:

  • To remove all the existing pixels associated with the selected creatives and replace them with the new ones you create, select Replace existing pixels.
  • To keep all the existing pixels that are associated with the selected creatives and add the new pixels, select Add to existing pixels.
