Get Started with Creative Bulk Uploads

You can bulk upload many display, video, and audio creatives at the advertiser level and link them to lines within an advertiser’s campaigns.

For some creative types, bulk uploads require an information file (XLSX or CSV).

The following table lists which creative types require an information file, and where to go for more information.

Creative Type Information File Needed?
Hosted Display No creative information file is needed. See Bulk Upload Hosted Display Creatives.
Third-Party Display An Excel File (XLSX). See Download the Excel Template for Third Party Creatives.
Hosted Native Display A CSV file (format: CSV or TXT). See Download the CSV Template for Native Creatives.
Hosted Video No creative information file is needed. See Bulk Upload Hosted Video Creatives.
Third-Party Video An Excel File (XLSX). See Download the Excel Template for Third Party Creatives.

Hosted Audio No creative information file is needed. See Bulk Upload Audio Creatives.

Download the Excel Template for Third Party Creatives

If you are a new advertiser with no creative data, you can download a new blank Excel template and start Excel-based creative management from scratch. Advertisers with existing DSP creatives may find it easier to download a template that’s already prepoulated with their data.

Download a New Blank Excel Template for Creatives

You can download a new blank template to use for adding new creatives to DSP. Start by navigating to the Creatives page to download a new, blank Excel (.xlsx) template file. (If you need help, see Navigate to the Creatives Page).

In Excel, you’ll enter all of the creative data you want to upload to DSP.

To download a new blank Excel template for creatives:

  1. From the Creatives page, select Upload File (XLSX) from the Actions menu.

  1. On the Bulk Upload Creatives page, click the Third Party Display Creative or Third Party Video Creative link.

You see a blank template file called Display_Third_Party_Template or Video_Third_Party_Template in the lower-left corner of your browser window. Open that template, populate it with data, and use it to upload your new creatives to DSP.

  1. Add data to the Excel sheet. For accepted values, see Bulk Upload Creative Data.
  2. Follow the instructions for uploading your data to DSP. See Bulk Upload 3rd-Party Display Creatives or Bulk Upload Third Party Video Creatives.

Download a Template Prepopulated with Creative Data

If you have creatives in DSP, you can download an Excel template that’s prepopulated with your creative data. Start by navigating to the Creatives page to download the prepopulated template. (If you need help, see Navigate to the Creatives Page).

In Excel, you’ll add new creatives or edit existing creatives and upload everything to DSP.

To download a template prepopulated with creative data:

  1. From the Creatives page, select the checkboxes for the DSP creatives with which you want pre-populate the Excel template. To include all of your creatives, select the checkbox in the upper-left corner above the list view.

  1. Select Download from the Actions menu.
  2. Select Check Status from the Actions menu.
You see the Check Status page.
  1. On the Check Status page, Downloads tab, locate your download file and click the Download button.

You see your prepopulated template file in the lower-left corner of your browser window.

  1. Click Done to close the Check Status window.
  2. Open your Excel template and navigate to the correct tab for the type of creatives you downloaded.

In your Excel template, edit your creative data. You can also add new creatives to the Excel template. For accepted values, see Bulk Upload Creative Data.

  1. Follow the instructions for uploading your data to DSP. See Bulk Upload 3rd-Party Display Creatives or Bulk Upload Third Party Video Creatives.

Download the CSV Template for Native Creatives

For native creatives, you provide the information in a CSV or TXT file. Navigate to the Creatives Page to download the CSV template.

To download the csv template for native creatives:

  1. From the Creatives page, select Upload File (XLSX) from the Actions menu.
You see the Bulk Upload Creatives page.
  1. On the Bulk Upload Creatives page, click the Hosted Native Display Creative or Hosted Native Video Creative link.

You see a blank template file called DSP_Bulk_Creative_Template_Native_Image or DSP_Bulk_Creative_Template_Native_Video. Open that template, populate it with data, and use it to upload your new creatives to DSP.
