About IAS Contextuals

You can create IAS brand safety segments to meet your brand safety objectives and targeting needs.


To access IAS contextuals, enable them at the seat level using the Vendor Store. See Vendor Store.

IAS supports the following types of contextual targeting:

Topic Description
Brand Safety Contextual categories that block sites that pose brand safety concerns or violate policies.
Contextual A series of user interest categories and sub-categories.
Media Quality Contextuals that assign each site a score. The score is a combination of metrics that tells potential advertisers how ‘fit’ a site is for their brand.

You can only target IAS Brand Safety contextuals; it’s not possible to block them.


You can target or block other IAS contextual types, such as IAS interest categories.
