Chapter 3. Debugging with the Simulator Console

App developers can use the Simulator Console to inspect both the Engine and framework objects during runtime. When you launch the Engine, a Terminal window running the Simulator Console is also launched. You can type commands into this terminal window.

Simulator Console Commands

Type /help in the Simulator Console to see the Engine commands that are supported by the console’s command line interface:

To enable the Simulator Console command /views you must set the environment variable KF_TRACK_VIEWS to 1. You can set this environment variable in your shell or edit the track_views flag in the Simulator settings file. To edit the Simulator settings, select the Simulator Settings item from the Applications→Yahoo CTV-ADK menu. See Edit the Simulator Settings for more details.
