The Yahoo! Developer Network is excited to announce our first developer event in Jordan, on November 29, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Amman. We expect some exciting guests, to be announced at the event itself.
This conference celebrates Yahoo!'s recent multi-million dollar deal with the largest Arab online community in the world, Maktoob.com, which will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yahoo! by the end of 2010. According to CEO Samih Toukan, the leading Arab portal has some 6.5 million users out of a total of around 45 million users, in 22 countries. Toukan expects the deal to be a turning point for Arabic content in the region and to spur innovation and growth.
In the YDN presentation, Christian Heilmann, YDN developer evangelist, will provide an introduction to Yahoos open APIs. He will then give an in-depth technical talk on some of the most popular and useful web services provided by Yahoo!, such as YUI, our Geo technologies, YAP, and YQL. The presentation will be given in English.
