Calling all hackers; Chemam toti hakerii

We're excited to announce Open Hack Europe 2011, to be held on the 14th to 15th of May in Bucharest, Romania. This will be our 3rd Open Hack in Europe and Yahoo!'s 14th global Open Hack event.

The last European Open Hack was held in London in 2009. It was a huge success with over 350 developers and designers hacking into the wee hours and producing 61 fantastic technology hacks. The Bucharest event will be the first Open Hack on the continent and we plan to make it our best yet!

We hereby issue a call for developers and innovators from all across Europe to come to Bucharest and participate in this most awesome event! Yahoo! will provide you with everything you need to have fun, be creative and productive, and impress your peers. Show us what you can build with the wealth of technologies and data available on the Internet.

We'll fuel your creativity with a variety of Yahoo! technologies and APIs, including YUI, YQL, Messenger, Updates, Answers, and more. We'll introduce you to wonderful data sets ripe for mashups and visualizations and keep you fed, watered, and caffeinated throughout. Join us in the Crystal Palace Ballroom, the most wonderful of venues that Eastern Europe has to offer. All you need to bring is your creativity, your laptop, and your toothbrush.

To learn more about what Open Hack is all about, check out Ricky Montalvo's Hackumentary or visit Hacking 101, a presentation by Christian Heilmann.

If you'd like to be considered for participation, please register here. Due to the limited size of the venue, we will be reviewing applications for attendance. You are welcome to hack individually or form a hack team, but please sign up individually.

Multumesc! We hope to see you in May.
