Our first Yahoo! Query Language (YQL) Guide was a one-page preview document made available during Open Hack Day 2008. Since then, its grown significantly to cover many new YQL features such as YQL Open Data Tables, Insert/Update/Delete, and Execute.
As usage of YQL has grown, weve noticed that there are generally two types of people who use YQL:
- YQL Users: Folks who use and create applications based on what YQL already offers, including the many Open Data Tables the community has contributed.
- YQL Table Contributors: Developers, organizations, and companies who want to create and contribute Open Data Tables. Not only do contributors like Intuit benefit the YQL community, they can also leverage YQL to make their information easier to access and use.
To better address these two audiences, were continuing the evolution of the YQL Guide by reorganizing it into three distinct parts:
