Bay Area Hadoop Meetup Recap - Bullet (Open Source Real-Time Data Query Engine) & Vespa (Open Source Big Data Serving Engine)
<p><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/nathanspeidel/">Nate Speidel</a>, Software Engineer, Verizon Media<br/></p><p>In December, I<b> </b>joined <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaelnatkovich/">Michael Natkovich</a> (Director, Software Dev Engineering, Verizon Media) at a <a href="https://www.meetup.com/hadoop/">Bay Area Hadoop</a> meetup to share about <a href="https://bullet-db.github.io/">Bullet</a>. Created by Yahoo, Bullet is an open-source multi-tenant query system. It’s lightweight, scalable and pluggable, and allows you to query any data flowing through a streaming system without having to store it. Largely developed by engineers from Yahoo, <a href="https://vespa.ai">Vespa</a> is a big data processing and serving engine, available as open source on GitHub. Vespa allows you to search, organize, and evaluate machine-learned models from TensorFlow over large, evolving data sets, with latencies in the tens of milliseconds.
