YUI 3.0.0 beta 1
YUI 3.0.0 beta 1 brings the core YUI components as well as the utilities to beta quality. The DOM, Node, and Event Utilities have received significant enhancements since the PR2 release. There are several utilities making their debut in this release that were originally released as a part of YUI 2.x: DataSource, StyleSheet, ImageLoader and Browser History Utility. This release also contains several new utilities including Cache, DataSchema, and DataType. We've also added a new Node Plugin, Focus Manager, designed to facilitate keyboard navigation. Please read the release announcement for a full overview of YUI 3.0.0 beta 1 then review the APIs, play with the examples, and read the documentation on this site.

Getting Started
- Check out the examples of YUI in action. We recommend starting with the base YUI module and then moving on to Node. Other utilities like IO and Drag and Drop make for good points of exploration.
- Remember that there are full user's guides for each component here on the website. If you have any questions about a component as you play with the examples, check out the component's user's guide (by following any of the links along the left side of the page) or the searchable API documentation.
- Start building. Use the YUI 3 Configurator to configure a page for YUI 3 usage or base your exploration off of one of the existing examples.
- Become a member of the YUI community. As YUI 3 development progresses, developers and community members are discussing it in the YUI 3.x Forum.
Licensing
All of the YUI Library components are provided free of charge under a liberal BSD license.
Articles
- Graded Browser Support: This article details the browser-support philosophy we use in developing the YUI Library. Graded Browser Support provides a sane path to achieving accessibility and graceful degradation while still building richly interactive interfaces in the browser.
