The Yahoo! Social APIs consist of YQL tables enable you to create socially-enabled applications. The Yahoo! Social APIs offer the following advantages:

- When deployed on the Yahoo! Application Platform (YAP), applications have access to massive distribution through the Yahoo! network.
- Calls made to the APIs are secure, conforming to the authorization requirements of Yahoo! OAuth.
