Introducing the Yahoo! Local Search APIs
Yahoo! Local Search APIs offer you a way to connect with the wealth of data in Yahoo! Local — including ratings and comments made by Yahoo! users. The content in Yahoo! Local makes a great addition to any mashup, bringing in location-based relevancy and the additional context of what real people have experienced in these places.
Important Announcement: The early versions of Local Search (V1 and V2) are discontinued as of January 19, 2009. If you are still using one of those deprecated versions, please update your code to use Local Search V3 instead.
Local Search Web Services
Local Search APIs give you access to a comprehensive database of information and content.
- Local Search V3
Version 3 of Yahoo! Local Search adds even more features! You can now request individual business records by using the Yahoo! Local listing id. We also support search categories to help you narrow your queries. Finally, results now return the first few lines of the last user review for each listing.

Rate Limit
The Yahoo! Local Search Web Services are limited to 5,000 queries per IP per day and to non-commercial use. See information on rate limiting and our Usage Policy to learn about acceptable uses and how to request additional queries.
