Yahoo! takes your privacy seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our privacy policy applying to information gathered from you regarding the Hack Day event.
What this Privacy Policy Covers
- This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of personally identifiable information that we collect when you are on the Hack Day site and/or the Hack Day registration pages and/or when you attend the Event. This policy also covers our treatment of any personally identifiable information that our business partners share with us.
- The policy also gives information about cookies; Yahoo! and third parties' use of cookies; and how you may disable such cookies.
- This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Yahoo! does not own or control or to people that Yahoo! does not employ or manage.
Information Collection and Use
- During the registration process for Hack Day, Yahoo! and its third party registration agent may collect personally identifying information from you. This information will be controlled by Yahoo! and used by both Yahoo! and its co-organisers for the purposes of the Event.
- Yahoo! will receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information and the page you requested.
- Yahoo! and its co-organisers will use the information we obtain from you for the purpose of the event and in particular to contact about the event.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
- Yahoo! will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone.
- Yahoo! may send personally identifiable information about you to other companies (including but not limited to our co-organisers of the event) or people when:
- We have your consent to share the information;
- We need to share your information to enable Hack Day to proceed or to provide you with services or information you have requested;
- We need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of Yahoo! in relation to Hack Day (unless we tell you differently, these companies do not have any right to use the personally identifiable information we provide to them beyond what is necessary to assist us);
- We respond to subpoenas, court orders, any legitimate request by authorities with which we must comply or legal process.
- Yahoo! may transfer information about you if Yahoo! acquires, or is acquired by or merged with, another company. In this case, Yahoo! will endeavour to notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
