Looking for Example Bounce Dialog of Require-Recipient-Valid-Since failure
So, I am trying to update our bounce handling process to properly handle bounces caused by Yahoo's new header
Require-Recipient-Valid-Since: <firstname.lastname@example.org;> Sat, 1 Jun 1990 09:23:01 -0700
So far, I have been unable to find an actual example of a bounce. The RFC has a quick over view of the dialog. However, there is not enough meat here to make a proper unit test. The RFC says it should be a 5.1.6 however, other vendors use this code for different things. If I have an actual bounce example I can add it to our test suite and verify:
1.) We handle this new class of bounce designed. (forcing creation of a new account object)
2.) My changes don't produce any unintended side effects.
I was wondering if anyone has an example of this dialog.
It would greatly help me validate our business logic.
I don't have a bounce example for you specifically. Yes, 5.1.6 can be used for various things, and we re-used it for this purpose since it made sense. A site may in fa ct return any other text there that they want to after the 5.1.6 code, the text isn't actually allowed to be important if you read the extended SMTP standard. If you send an RRVS header you're going to have to honor the 5.1.6 return as aplying to RRVS.
