Where is the meta data description in the Open Data Table definition?
For an available table, where can I find the meta data of underlying tables? If I don't know the meta data, I can't decide the parameters after the 'select' . That is to say, without the meta data of an open data table, a user can't know the structure of the table, how can he know what the table can provide?
Thanks for your answer. The "desc" command returns the metadata of an open table, but, its content is not complete. In the data returned by the "desc" command, we can get the attributes that follow "where" to filter the result. However, how can I know what attributes can follow the "select"? For example, In the query "select **nickname **from social.profile where guid...", how can I know there is the attribute "nickname"?
Hi Feng, the only way to find the attributes that directly follow the select (to my knowledge), is to look at the keys inside the YQL results (for a select * call). These attributes are usually not documented in the metadata of a table.
