Please HELP! YQL not querying flickr

Hello,

I've posted elsewhere, but i can't find my post anywhere ;-)

Flickr YQL queries have stopped working - even the console examples. Can anyone throw any light on this? Apparently, about this time last year, YQL's flickr API expired and a similar thing happened....

Any help greatly appreciated, high profile flickr/YQL based exhibition opening tomorrow.... but not at this rate!

cheers!

  • Same here. No results from the Flickr queries.  This is becoming a real problem :(

  • Hello,

I was having the same issue this morning.  I found this article on the yql blog:

    http://www.yqlblog.net/blog/2011/05/26/flickr-table-change/

In short, you will need to get a flickr api key here:

    http://www.flickr.com/services/apps/create/apply/

    And change your yql to:

SELECT * FROM flickr.places WHERE query=”north beach” and api_key=”your key here”

    Good luck,

  • Just posted the same issue... http://developer.yahoo.com/forum/YQL/YQL-no-longer-loading-photos-from/1316108658766-d9bdf3af-21c4-4277-8dab-ce27886929e1

Good to know that an API is required now... why isn't that mentioned on the YQL console?

  • Isn't any workaround? My application is installed on thousand of sites, and will be installed on thousands more! I want to simplify things for my users. Is there anyway not to use an API key?? I guess not... :(
