Yes, the API was reverse-engineered. The API seemed pretty complete. Is there a way to request a private API?
I was using the API to present movie times for local theaters, as well as, information about the movie including trailers and clips. This was done in an application for Boxee (www.boxee.tv). Is Yahoo interested in extending this open source Boxee application? I don't care who owns/builds the application, I just want the content available on TV set-top boxes. I assume Yahoo makes money off the ads on the regular movies web pages, so you could display ads within the application.
Thanks,
-Nate
The methods described for accessing the movies API were reverse-engineered from the requests the movies site was making correct? I believe I was actually the moderator to take that post down (upon request from the team in question) since it was an exploit of the service rather than the use of a public API. I believe the movies team patched the hole in their service so the methods used should no longer work.
From what I know there is currently not a public API available for movies and I haven't heard of one in the pipeline unfortunately.
