We're having the issue and the file indeed works when typed into the web browser.  Any ideas?

I believe the domain verification is not being enforced. So simply leave it.

My verification is also failing with this error:
Domain verification failed. Please check that the verification file is in the location above and is named correctly.
it is perfecty clear that the file is where it is supposed to be and how hard can it be to copy a name

I like to know why it is not working, if it is not being enforced, what is the point then..

You need to upload a file with the given name and file should have some content (non-empty). The message in the domain verification popup was misleading. We have changed it a week back and it now reads "Create a verification file with some content". Can you check whether domain verification is working for you now with a file with some content?

Sumit, Can you paste the URL you are trying to verify? Your URL needs to return 200 OK response.

Frankly, I really don't understand why Yahoo makes something as simple as verifying a site so difficult to implement. The message is confusing and direction unclear. Please simplify this process.
