Where do I start? (Y! Fantasy API NOOB)

I am a complete api beginner and I know that makes this a harder to answer but I have plenty of web design experience. I have messed with php in the past but I am now taking a big leap. I am trying to get My league's fantasy stats on our website.

I have searched for yahoo api for beginners to no avail.

I really need a step by step from beginning to end.

Is this resource even available?
