How to add my app to the gallery?

I just finished porting an application to the Yahoo platform.

The application is now live, but i can't seem to find any way to put it in the Gallery.
How do I do that?

  • Great that you've just finished your app. We'd love to see it.

    Right now there isn't an App gallery you can add your App to. There are a few staff picks on http://apps.yahoo.com/myapps but that's about it. Keep an eye on the YDN blog http://developer.yahoo.com for updates about an App gallery.

    I 'd love to hear suggestions ; there are certain things left to be completed yet.
    Where can i find a roadmap about the expected dates of launch of the gallery ?

  • Right now, app gallery submissions for My Yahoo! are being handled on a one-off basis. If you reply with a link to your app, I'd be happy to forward it to the My Yahoo! team for their review.

    We are constantly updating it.

    I have 1 issue, that someone may be able to provide feedback on.

    Our swf's run fine everywhere we test. But in yahoo, they flicker sometimes.. and some objects don't work the same.

    Is there anything different in yahoo that would cause this ?

  • Hi Ryan,

    I don't know of any known flickering issues with the flash movies we've implemented and haven't actually seen reports personally. When the yml:swf tag is renders it appears as something like this:

  • I know there is a submission tool under construction right now. At the mean time, how can we get our app submitted for review and published to the app gallery? What is the app submission process? How long does it take?

    Right now there isn't a way to submit your App to the My Yahoo! gallery but I'd be happy to pass your app on to the My Yahoo! team for consideration if you can link to it here.

    The contact adress you used is the right one. No problem about it ...as a developper, I was using my yahoo account. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    I have a couple of question though.
    1) When I make a search from the gallery, we don't find any of our widgets :

    2) But If we search from http://search.yahoo.com/ we reach them:

    Could you allow searching from the gallery?
    Could you grouped all the widgets with our signature ?

    We have another widget approved :" Mes infos TER" with ticket 2586520. It has been 1 month since we received this ticket and nothing has changed. Any idea ?

  • Hi Olori,

    Unfortunately the widget system is something different than this app platform, so I can't make the changes that are requesting. I looked over the bug you provided, and see that there have been no changes since it was filed. That type of bug would be the best thing that I could do but since it's already filed I would keep working with the contact that you have who filed the original bug.

    There was one other item I wanted to discuss with you, but I'm going to take this off the public boards. Since that e-mail is correct, I'll send you more information there.
