Hi, I'm new here, and I was wondering if anyone could help me determine what Design Patterns are being used in this class diagram?
I've been given certain class relationships and I made this diagram using them. Now the next step in my work is to decide which Design Patterns are being used in this diagram. If anyone could help me, I'd be very grateful.

The Disk class is generalized from Medijum (Media).

Translations, just in case:
Delo - work (as noun; someone's work)
...naziv - name

Medijum - Media

Osoba - Person
...ime - name
...prezime - last name
...jmbg - personal ID

Kopija - Copy
Kaseta - Cassette

Glumac - Actor
...glumi - acts

Reziser - Film Director
...snimiFilm - film a movie / shoot a movie

Disk - Disc

Radnik - Worker / Employee
...iznajmiIzdanje - rent an edition
...vodiEvidenciju - make evidence of rental

Fotograf - Photographer
...slikaj - take a photo

Izdanje - Edition
MiniDV - MiniDV
VHS - VHS
Film - Film
CD - CD
DVD - DVD
Fotografija - Photography

Videoteka - video (rental) library
...brojIzdanja - number of editions
...dodajPozajmicu - add a rental

I think relations are pretty obvious, but if you need translation, tell me.
The image of the diagram is in the link.

http://freepicupload.com/images/149Capture.png
Thanks!

Hello David,

I started a pattern library on my ownpatterns.intuio.atand decided to build everything on my own. I knew Quince but it seemed a bit heavy for my purpose. So here's what I did, maybe this helps:

The patterns are basically a result of my doctoral thesis where I developed a pattern language and the patterns based on extensive usability testing of touch applications in safety-related railways operation.

The site structure was based on the structure of the pattern language, which uses a three-tier-approach. This structure is usable for browsing, but not necessarily for scanning and searching the site, so I included lists of patterns sorted by alphabet and recency and added search functionality.

The site runs on Drupal 6, which I think is more flexible than Joomla, but this is mostly a matter of taste and what you are familiar with. If you decide to build your pattern library on your own, I think there is no way to avoid getting acquainted with one of the popular CMSs out there.

Hope this helped!

Hi,

I'm interested in the use of the Calendar picker for selection of dates that might be many years from the current date. Obviously, using a Calendar picker to enter a birthdate, where the year/date was decades in the past would represent quite a number of clicks if the calendar is moving one month at a time.

Is the solution to this to bind drop-downs for "year" (and either month and day) to the Calendar, or are there any better patterns to allow for manipulation of dates along a sliding scale of granularity from years, through months and finally days (and possibly as has been previously pointed out hours, minutes, etc)?

Thanks,
Slade Winstone.

Hi,

I'm having problems making distinction between a category and a pattern page.
This is a patterns collection so I would like to suggest the following improvement:

For example, if you are on this page:
http://developer.yahoo.com/ypatterns/social/people/

The text is stating "Patterns in this Category", but those entries are not actually patterns, but subcategories of patterns.

You should represent the inclusion by having the number of items contained written beside the title, something like: "Identity (2)" - this way you know how rich is the category and if it's worth entering it, and also you know that it's actually a "folder" and not a pattern.

The count is not enough, but would be better than the current implementation. Another suggestion is to visual make a distinction between a category and a pattern, with a proper icon or with another presentation style.

Thanks,
Ecaterina
