Hi there scott and Kirsten,

Yuck! I'd love to fix this. You can send us some information so that we can. Here's how.

1. uninstall browserplus
2. install browserplus again
3. find your browserplus installation log on disk, documented here: http://browserplus.org/howdoi/
4. email that to us at browserplus-feedback@yahoo-inc.com

Scott, you're in Dubai, correct? Kirsten, where abouts in the world are you?

eager to help,

I have the same problem on both my PCs. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the browser helper but the only way I can attach photos is to switch to Yahoo Mail Classic
Hecuba27 Oct 2009 11:53 AM
I was able to get it working by switching to Yahoo Mail Classic and then switching back to Yahoo All-New Mail. That seemed to clear to problem up and I am now able to attach files again with no problems.

When I click attachmen, I get the top left quarter of the "Browser Plus" download box. The box cannot be expanded to get at the download or decline buttons. This just locks up my computer and the only thing I have control of is the location of the b+ box. The only control that will work is the three fingered salute. Also I can no longer e mail my invoices, all I get is a blank "compose mail" page with the "done" message at the bottom. I had no problems until yesterday when some of us experienced e mai prolem.

HI, I've got the same problem with the message"... could not attain corelet." I tried uninstalling browser plus, but it still didn't work after reinstall. I'm on HP pc operating Windows 7 (upgraded) two days ago, BUT before that I got the corelet message also. I have an ACER netbook that upgraded from x to windows 7 and the attachemnts on that new yahoo email worked before and still work well. I tried getting the logfiles but couldn't find them due to my computer illiteracy. Any other ideas. Thanks ,Paul

I'm having exactly the same problem on 14 computers (I own a small internet café) and it's IMPOSSIBLE to find the solution. All my computers are on Windows XP and IE8.
Browserplus works ok on each pc under administrator, but it won't work for the users (nor with limited, nor with admin rights).
It's very annoying. Can Yahoo work something out for this quickly please?

This is the email I sent to Yahoo: You people are f------- thieves. You are obviously planning to charge me forever. How the hell do I cancel this f------ account. I signed up for one year and you have been charging me for 2 1/2 years! I am supposed to cancel my card and change my checking account just to stop you bastards. I wouldn't trust you people with dog ----. I am making sure to tell everyone I know about how you are charging me and can't be cancelled. I hope you are sued out of existance. I want my f----- money back. janelleshivers@yahoo.com

Do you think they will contact me? There is no other way to get in touch with these people.

This is turning out to be really frustrating as i can't seem to get any answers. I can't attach anything to any email in the new yahoo mail anymore. A switch to yahoo classic seems to help, but what a pain! The switch to the new yahoo mail was great before they messed with how attachments are handled. I have uninstalled and reinstalled BrowserPlus, which does not help. All i get in the new yahoo mail now, is an error message when trying to attach saying "1 (or 2, or whatever) file(s) can't be sent"... clicking on the retry button does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help. It's very annoying, as i now have to resort to using Outlook to attach a file, then send it to my yahoo account and forward it from there. This has been going on for me for a couple weeks, and i have a two yahoo mail accounts that this problem exists with.

Hello all,

Just to add that i have this issue also . I have not been a ble to attach to my yahoo mail for about a month now. To make matters worse, it seems it started when I installed the browser plus plugin. Now I can't even attach to Gmail .

What is going on ?

Javier, Lynn, and Prince,

Thanks for the reports and your patience. Here are a couple questions:

1. is the problem specific to a particular file?
2. if you close your browser, UNINSTALL BrowserPlus (via the start menu) and retry attaching, does it work?
(do not click the "attach files more easily" link at the bottom, but rather the "attach" button at the top.

Based on this I'll escalate the issue and get answers for you.

thanks again for your patience,

Hi Lloyd,
The problem is not specific to a file type... it happens with word docs, photos (switching the size option doesn't help), music files, etc...
I've completely closed out of the browser, uninstalled Browser plus, and have tried attaching with the button at the top. Then it begins the automatic download for the browser plus add-on, and still doesn't work. I usually try attaching using the button at the top - i started trying with the 'attach' option down below when the top button didn't seem to get the files attached.
Just to be sure i wasn't making this up, i tried it again... and this time it actually seems to work just fine! One thing i had noticed before was that the 'status bar' along the attachment wasn't being filled to show it was attaching... now it does. Interesting. I'm not sure what changed as i haven't done anything to my computer or my addons since my previous post, but it does seem to work again.
I will say this Lloyd, that i am quite pleased with your attentiveness to the issue at hand. I had expected to post on this forum and not see a response for a week, if that... and to see something within a few days is above what i expected from yahoo, ... even if my issue had not been resolved at this moment, i still appreciate getting a response and further questions to solve the issue.

Error loading Yahoo! Mail Attachment Uploader

Problem starting services: could not attain corelet

I've sent you a logfile one week ago, but I didn't get an answer yet. Were you able to do anything with it?
I'm not a jalous type, but it seems that you're answering to everybody but me. Is there a reason for it, or are you not getting my messages?

I would like to (re)explain the problem, hoping that you will be able to help solving it:
I have 14 pc's (a small internet café) running with Windows XP and IE8, and the problem is the same on each pc.
Each pc has two accounts, one for the administrator and one limited account for the users.
On the administrator account, Browserplus works fine, no problem.
On the user account it keeps on giving the (above) error message.
It doesn't matter if the user account has limited rights or admin rights. In both cases the Browserplus services (such as Upload, FileAcces and ImageAlt) won't install. When I click on "Attach", it looks like those services are being installed, but finally they don't.
When I go to your web page "browserplus.yahoo.com" to check those services, they are not installed. Even clicking on "install service" doesn't install it. It initially looks like they're getting installed, but when I close the Browser and re-open it, the services appear as non-installed again.
Again, all these problems only appear in the user account (with limited -or admin rights), while it's working ok on the administrator account(s).

It is starting to be VERY annoying and I'm starting to loose the good reputation of my internet cafe, because my clients are getting these error messages on their screens and they think that it's because of my computers. PLEASE HELP!

Javier, you're very lucky. I've followed the instructions too, but it doesn't solve the problem. I only work with Internet Explorer 8, but new attach system with Browserplus doesn't want to work. It doesn't upload the Browserplus services.

I too am having problem attaching files to email. Just started last week. I haven't made any updates that I have know about. I use google chrome, but it also does it for me in IE & FF. Switching to email classic works, but isn't there a better fix than that?
When I try to attach, it says "1 file cannot be sent". I am attaching small (2.8MB) .pdf files. I don't have browserplus to uninstall and re-install. I have uninstalled all my adobe programs and re-installed them. Help!

Hi John,

Thanks for your patience, and I understand how frustrating this is for you.

We *did* receive your logfile, and it's been the topic of much conversation the last week. Unfotunately there is no "smoking gun" to explain why things are not working. From the logfile, everything actually looks good. Given however your extended description of the problem, there's a couple more possible avenues to explore.

Some things I want to confirm.

1. When you visit http://browserplus.yahoo.com on one of the machines/user accounts you're having trouble with you should see that browserplus is installed (there should be a version number in the upper left hand corner

2. If that's done, we need to figure out why you cannot install services. Please open up a browser, and visit yahoo mail to reproduce the service installation problems. Now, leave that browser alone, and open up the BrowserPlus configuration panel in

2a. start -> All Programs -> BrowserPlus -> Configure BrowserPlus
2b. Enter the trouble shooting tab, type something that will let me recognize it's you, and click send

Here's a screenshot that gives you a step by step walkthrough: http://img.skitch.com/20091116-ngmgxfseyhg...6swmkc7shtj.jpg

I'm very eager to see those logs, as combined with your updated description of the problem will finally let us figure out what is going on.

Very best,
lloyd

Hi Diana,

Sorry your experience has been bad. The good news is it's very important to us that BrowserPlus is the easiest software to UNINSTALL on the planet! You'll find the uninstall link in your start menu:

Meanwhile we'll work with other folks like you to figure out how to make your experience better.

Hi Javier,

I, like you, love firefox. I'm confused as to why it would not be working on firefox. There's a couple steps we can take to diagnose it. First, you could visit yahoo mail in firefox, then follow the steps I gave John Weink to send us a problem report (including logs).

Second, you could visit browserplus.yahoo.com in firefox and see if there's a version in the upper left corner?

Another thing we can check, is you can type in "about:plugins" into the firefox url bar. Do you see an entry for the "Yahoo! BrowserPlus Plugin"? For reference, here is what I see:

Given the number of complaints here about "could not obtain corelet" errors, we're badly wanting to get to the bottom of this.

Anyone who has this problem regularly should reproduce it, then go into "configuration panel" and sent us a report. (instructions are in post # 23 on this thread http://developer.yahoo.net/forum/index.php...ost&p=9586).

Meanwhile we're doing some deep spelunking to figure out what could be going on.

@Charlie I hate that you're infuriated, send us some logs and we'll try to make things better!

@elite awesome!

hi everyone

ran through various options and it seems that either browser plus or the yahoo! uploader are the issue.
i have uninstalled browser plus and have opted not to re-install the uploader and am now able to attach files just fine.
i was also able to attach files with browser plus, but without the uploader, so maybe the problem lies with that application.

Hey All,

Thanks to John and Joan for providing us with reports, we've identified at least one possible cause of "could not find corelets" errors.

On Windows XP if you have a windows login with TWO SPACES in it, BrowserPlus will fail in this way.

Two questions:

1. is anyone experiencing this precise symptom who is not on XP or does not have two spaces in their user name? What is your username?

2. Can anyone experiencing the problem create a new username without double spaces and confirm that it's fixed?

We should be able to get a fix out in the coming weeks.

Thanks a ton for making your voices heard and helping us fix this! What a weird bug!

Hi Lloyd,
sorry for ma late reaction, I've been absent for a few days.

I've followed your instructions and created a new account without space. You are right, this one works!
But it's too complicated to create all new users for all my computers, so in order to avoid these complications, the next thing I tried is to change the name of the present user by taking out the spaces.
Unfortunately that doesn't work. It still keeps on giving the correlet problem, even though the spaces aren't there anymore.

Do you think that Yahoo will correct the problem soon, so that I can keep on using the present users on my computers? In that case I'll wait for the correction, because that will prevent me from a lot of extra work.

Many thanks in advance,

John

Hi Lloyd,

I follow the instructions. The version installed is 2.4.21p. Then in firefox i type "about:plugins" and i see the exact same thing that you do, npybrowserplus_2.4.21 enable. Then i tried to attach one file (pdf) in firefox but it doesn't work. and finally open the browserplus configuration and i send you the log. I hope it helps to figure it out what is happening. Thank you.

Javier.

I just started to have the attachment problem. Started with a 846kb attachment. I have windows XP (original, not an upgrade), Firefox. I can't even forward an email with an attachment. However, I sent a picture to my sister and it went through. The other attachments ranged from 1MB to 5MB. Size doesn't seem to matter though. REALLY aggravating, as I am way too busy to spend hours on trying to fix this. I will try to send the log, but just curious as to why there hasn't been any other posts in the last couple weeks. Have others resolved this problem? My login name has no spaces. Any new in?

All i get in the new yahoo mail now, is an error message when trying to attach saying "1 (or 2, or whatever) file(s) can't be sent"... clicking on the retry button does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help. It's very annoying, as i now have to resort to using Outlook to attach a file, then send it to my yahoo account and forward it from there. This has been going on for me for a couple weeks, and i have a two yahoo mail accounts that this problem exists with.

The problem came out with Google Mail as well. There must be a sub-routine used by both, that has a bug inside. Google solved it in one day by saying: "We cannot attach your file. Switch to the basic mode and retry." OK, I've made it and it works. It works also with Yahoo Classic. This means the bug is in the part of the system which is common to both providers. I love the new yahoo mail and hope they'll correct it soon. I've already renounced to Windows Messenger as it doesn't work if you disable IE8. I prefer to get rid of IE8 bugs and use Skype only. I hope I'll not have to do the same with Yahoo Mail by switching totally to gmail or else.

I am also having the same problem attaching files. I am running FireFox 3.5.5 on XP and do NOT have BrowerPlus installed (No uninstall on Start or Add/Remove or FF screen or in Add-Ons). Has there been a solution?

I am on vista (for my sins)
I have tried removing BrowserPlus and swapping to and back from classic with no result.
I am not technically minded so Help!!

Reassuring to see others with the problem although nothing else on google.

Any new in?

This is clearly an issue Yahoo need to resolve judging by the number of people affected. I have suffered too. I managed to sort it out today by the simple measure of closing Yahoo and re-opening it. Clunky but effective!

Switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic. It works. It'll pop up asking you why are you doing it. Click on "feedback" and say it with your words. I suppose they are getting loads of protests and even insults. It must be quite a big problem as they use so much time troublesooting it. :a

I think they may have already "trouble-shot" it; mine is working correctly now. I've used it several times today already. Try it again. Also try closing Yahoo and then reopening it.

Same problems. I've uninstalled, restarted, used simple top attach, nothing. Installed Browser+, used bottom attach, nothing. Well, by nothing, I mean it quickly uploads most of the pfd, but then fails by saying "File(s) can't be sent!"

Tried on IE8 and still nothing. I send files for work all day and this is killing my productivity and deadline management. For now, I have to have a coworker grab my file off the network and forward it to me. :aAny other recommendations?

Javier, Lynn, and Prince,

Thanks for the reports and your patience. Here are a couple questions:

1. is the problem specific to a particular file?
2. if you close your browser, UNINSTALL BrowserPlus (via the start menu) and retry attaching, does it work?
(do not click the "attach files more easily" link at the bottom, but rather the "attach" button at the top.

Based on this I'll escalate the issue and get answers for you.

thanks again for your patience,

This is exactly what I did and the problem went away. Some people say reinstalling Browser Plus also worked. I don't need it. I'll live with the old attach method. It works. It doesn't involve extra software that does things I am not aware of.

For those of you using Firefox, if you get Stylish plugin, you can add a new script to kill the box at the bottom that prompts you to add the Browser Plus software.

I have the same problem but I get the error message on every single forward or reply whether it has an attachment or not. I called and allowed a tech to try to fix it and he did nothing but asked for a good report anyway. My problem started when we had to switch from the Yahoo browser to IE8. This is a piece of crap.

I've been having the same problem, I don't know how long, possibly since November. "Files can't be sent." "Ouch…there's a problem attaching ..." I also can't send large files - usually around 4 MB is when i have problems. I even restored a backup from 3 weeks ago and still no success. I have also found that using Mail Classic works, but why wouldn't the regular program work?

What's aggravating also is that they don't give you any reason - it just says - 1 file cant be sent.

They need to fix this.
ThomasK19 Feb 2010 5:11 AM
I'm having trouble attaching large files - usually around 4 MB in size.

Here's what I've done to dianose the problem:

- The same problem happens in Internet Explorer - I use Firefox 99% ofthe time.

- I erased my cache and other data under Tools - that didn't help.

- I have used the same file in 3 different sizes - the smaller sizes were fine
the large size wouldn't attach.

- Because of one suggestion, I did try using Classic Mail and the file
would attach - see the online picture.
http://www.tomterrific.com/temp/yahoomail.jpg

- I restored twice - from two different backups and still seem to have this problem.
That's very weird!

- I don't have browser plus installed at this time.

I hope someone comes up with a fix.
Now everytime I have to send a large file I have to switch to Classic Mail.

Hi,
I also have the same problem since I use Windows 7. I already tried another browser (I am using Mozilla), tried to disable all Add-ons, I do not use BrowserPlus, I checked my firewall settings, nothing would work. I can attach files from other PCs (using e.g. Vista), it also worked with my previous Windows 7 but since I reinstalled it, I can´t attach any files.

Does someone have an idea what the problem might be? I also got in contact with Yahoo help, they suggested to try out the things I already did. Anyway, if they come up with another solution, I am going to post it here.

I get the error message that Scott describes. I've had a text exchange with Yahoo support but their suggestions did nothing. I've also emailed support and have heard nothing back after two weeks. Hi Thomas,

Thank you for the thorough explanation of your problem. A couple more questions for you..

How fast is your internet connection?
Does the problem happen every time, or is it intermittent?
Do you have 2 or three files that fail all the time?

If so, I wonder if you would mind dropping an email to browserplus-feedback@ and including one of your attachments that is failing?

very best,
lloyd from the Browserplus team at Yahoo!

Hey Bruce,

I wonder if you would be willing to reproduce the problem in your browser, then immediately send us a bug report following the steps here:

if you include your first name in the report I'll be able to understand it's from you and hopefully understand your issue better.

Status Update from Yahoo!:

Hello everyone. Sorry for letting this thread fester for so long. We've been digging deep into attachment problems people are having and fixed several issues. We'll be deploying a couple more fixes in the middle of this week.

Some key feedback for you all to help us more quickly address your problems:
1. restate the precise issue you're seeing, hopefully with a screenshot
2. what operating system (ie windows XP, Mac OSX, Windows Vista, etc.) and browser (ie Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.) are you on?
3. are you using all-new mail, or classic?
4. do you have browserplus installed?
5. does uninstalling browserplus resolve the issue?

I look forward to getting to the bottom of all of this,
lloyd (of Yahoo's BrowserPlus team)

Acer desktop running Vista. Have had this problem since March 4, might have concided with Firefox 3.6 installation, but also happens with Chrome. Tried reinstalling Firefox 3.6, no change. No problem with Classic mail.

New Acer laptop purchased March 6 running Windows 7, no problems at all.
MARION10 Mar 2010 8:10 PM
In my case, everything was fine until this morning. The only thing that could have changed things was maybe a Windows update. By installing / uninstalling etc, I have narrowed my problem down to a combination of Yahoo Small Business Mail and BrowserPlus. BrowserPlus works with my personal email account. Business email attaches files normally in both Classic and Beta versions, but not with BrowserPlus. Very strange. I hope a solution is found soon. Thank you for your efforts.

i have windows 7 ultimate on a dell m1330 laptop.
i use yahoo all new mail & browser plus.

i can make attachments but not by drag & dropping the document - only by the usual browse files method.

i did have vista installed a couple of weeks ago & it worked fine with that so for me anyway it seems that browser plus doesn't work with windows 7.

i've now un-installed browser plus.

thanks.
j11 Mar 2010 7:24 AM
oops. made a mistake on my last post - sorry - getting mixed up so please ignore it & i'll try to get it right this time - the W7 thing was a red herring.

i use the new yahoo mail. browser plus worked ok with it with IE8 on vista but not with google chrome which is what i use now.
i now use W7 & get the same result -
.
that being that i can use the browse method to attach but not the drag & drop method - the file i try to drag into the attachment pain just opens up & doesn't attach.

thanks.

The BrowserPlus unininstaller can be reached via the Windows Control Panel ("Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features", depending on your version of WIndows. On OSX, the uninstaller can be reached via a preference pane in "System Preferences". If for some reason the uninstall doesn't work for you, just manually remove the following directory:
\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Local\Yahoo!\BrowserPlus (Vista, W7)
\Documents and Settings\<yourname>\Local Settings\Application Data\Yahoo!\BrowserPlus (XP)
/Users/<yourname>/Library/Application Support/Yahoo!/BrowserPlus (OSX)

Just to add to the long queu above. Starting from today I cannot attach nor upload files on my yahoo mail. BUT, and this gets really interesting, I have this problem only on one of my yahoo account, while the other works fine. Unfortunately the one affected is the one I use for my professional contacts.<br>I have a Mac 10.6.8.<br>I don&#39;t get any error message it just doesn&#39;t download and upload. I&#39;m stuck. I tried also with firefox. But nothing. Has anyone managed to fix this?<br><br><div class="quote"><div class="quotetop">QUOTE<cite>(S @ 18 Oct 2011 8:28 AM)</cite></div><blockquote class="quotemain">Yahoo mail plus classic hangs when trying to attach one or multiple files. I am having the same or a similar problem.&nbsp; Seems like it has been developing / progressing over the last&nbsp;few weeks.&nbsp; When I would receive e-mails with attachments, I could &quot;save as&quot; to a directory.&nbsp; They from my same clients I started getting signature attachements with the file and yahoo would bundle them in a zip file - mostly they were image files, logos, etc.<br><br>I have had trouble upload attachments as well.&nbsp; They use to upload fine, then I started browsing to upload a file like normal and it wouldn&#39;t show the progress bar until I did the browse process two or three or more times.&nbsp; Now today I can browse for a file and it shows the progress bar, but it doesn&#39;t attach, even if I let it sit for 10 minutes.&nbsp; Also, I can&#39;t download attachments.&nbsp; I get the scanning for viruses screen which operates normally.&nbsp; I click on the orange continue button and since this morning, nothing happens from that point.&nbsp;&nbsp; I think once, the &quot;save&quot; &quot;save-as&quot; &quot;open&quot; choices came up, after about a half an hour wait.<br><br>I am running windows Vista Home Premuim and Internet Explorer 9.&nbsp; I uninstalled browser plus and that didn&#39;t help.&nbsp; I have the same problem when running Firefox.&nbsp; I cleaned my browser temporary files and that didn&#39;t help either.&nbsp; <br><br>My thoughts:&nbsp; maybe I need to clean out my inbox?&nbsp; or maybe there&#39;s a conflict with my security (Kaspersky 2009 - I had some issues with Kaspersky updates not coming through a few days ago), or somone rolled out a yahoo update with a bug?<br><br>My workaround right now is to use my g-mail account, upload the files (same process as normal for my yahoo account), send them to my yahoo account, then forward the attachments to the recipients.&nbsp; That seems to work fine for today.&nbsp; The google mail upload seems to be working fine, but I can&#39;t do that extra step everytime I have an attachment to download or upload...<br><div class="quote"><div class="quotetop">One other item, for a short time a few months ago, yahoo let me drag and drop files to attach them to an e-mail, but I haven&#39;t been able to do that lately.&nbsp; If I try, the brower opens the file that I drag into the mail window.<br><br>Thanks in advance for looking at this; hope my description helps.<br>Pete<br><br>QUOTE<cite>(S @ 18 Oct 2011 8:28 AM)</cite></div><blockquote class="quotemain">Yahoo mail plus classic hangs when trying to attach one or multiple files.
