    Elodie,

    Sorry to hear that you're having problems. Please see http://browserplus.org/docs/FAQ.html#diagn...nstallerProblem
    Please email us the installer log as described on that page, it's the only way we can figure out these pesky intermittent failures.

    Thanks.

    Haven't been able to devote any time to it yet.

  • Hi...

    I couldn't install browser plus either. I got an ERROR that said: Access was denied.

    I tried to download it twice and the same ERROR message came up.

    I need this so I can finish optimizing my two pages: Girls Rugs and Boys Rugs.

    So I need all the help I can get with this.

    Thank you very much in advance!

    BUBBA,

    Got your installer log, thanks. I have a thought. What anti-virus software are you running? It appears that the installer was unable to actually launch. The installer and it's associated goodies get downloaded and unpacked into a temp directory, then the installer is launched. I'm wonder if your anti-virus software is preventing an exe from being executed from a temp directory.

  • Elodie,

    I've had a chance to look into your installer failure, and I suspect some odd proxy behavior. The http trace of your failed install and a successful install are very different. Are you behind a proxy server? If you would, can you try to visit http://browserplus.yahoo.com/api/v3/platfo...t/version/win32 and let me know what result you get? You should see something like:

    {"version":"2.9.2","size":2552260}

    Thanks.

    For some reason, your machine times out when querying our distribution servers. Be aware that BrowserPlus uses the system proxy settings (Firefox does not). You can always try downloading and running the full installer from http://github.com/browserplus/platform/dow..._2.9.8_full.exe

  • Start IE and check the proxy settings there. I think BP uses the IE settings and firfox does not.

  • I am unable to download Browser Plus in Firefox. No problems with IE, but I hate IE and wondering if anyone could help me. Window for installer does open up and seems to be in progress, but nothing ever happens. The process is never completed. No error messages or anything, just cannot complete installation. What could be the cause? :h
