Unable to download services

I started looking at BrowserPlus yesterday and love the concept, I already use YUI extensively and have looked at Gears. However since this morning (UK time) I've been unable to download any services either on my Mac or PC or in the office. Is this issue something you are aware of?

Thanks!
Graham

    Hey Graham,

    Thanks for writing!

This is the first report we've heard. A couple questions to help narrow it down:

    1. when you visit http://browserplus.yahoo.com/install , does the page report that BrowserPlus is installed? Which version?
    2. How are you trying to install services? Through the service explorer?
    3. consider filing a report through the configuration panel (in system preferences on mac or program files on windows)

look forward to getting to the bottom of this,
    lloyd

  • Lloyd,

Thanks for your quick response, really helpful. I tried the install page and get the following returned..

    BrowserPlus is Installed!

Version 2.1.11 is installed, which supports your current browser: Firefox 3 on Windows

I am using the service browser to try and install the services, previously this was working fine but I can't pin anything down that may affect. I've tried using IE 6, Chrome, FF3, and Safari 3 on windows and Safari 3 and FF3 on Mac. The flick upload demo works in all cases as the services for these are already downloaded.

    Thanks again
    Graham

    Hey Graham,

Reproduce the problem in a browser, then fire up the config panel and file a bug:

Include your name in the report, and I should be able to look at it immediately.

    very best,

  • Thanks Lloyd,

I'm trying to send the log file now from the configurator but it looks as though this doesn't work either. Strange as I'm connected ok, sending this post from the same browser.

    I'll keep trying...

Best Regards and sorry I can't provide more info at this point...
    Graham

    Hi Graham,

One more thought that fits the data.

Proxy support was added in 2.1.11. Is it possible that your system wide proxy settings are now being honored, (whereas they were not before) and this has broken something?

Do you have proxy settings configured in IE (on win32) or Safari (on osx)?

a bit of a wild guess, but it does kinda fit the data.

    best,
    lloyd
