BrowserPlus not detecting on XP SP2, Firefox 3.0.7 & Chrome 1.0.154.48

As the title states...

Just trying it out, only discovered it about 20 minutes ago. Looks very promising. That was until I couldn't get it working on my own XP PRO SP2 Machine, at least for Firefox 3.0.7 and Chrome 1.0.154.48. When running the demos, continually prompts me to download and install. Works however without a hitch in IE.

I'll try to provide as much info as possible. (This might have to do with the fact that I'm using my work laptop, which is a specialized install of XP). Will try on other PCs.

    Hi oljohnson,

Definitely want to understand what's going on. Here's a simple starting question, when you start firefox and type 'about:plugins' in the navigation bar, do you see a mention of yahoo browserplus?

  • Hi again oljohnson,

One more thing, a working theory. I suspect it's possible that we didn't delete an old version of the browserplus plugin, and that this is causing problems. The same steps I described to t.boyer in terms of listing what's in your firefox plugin directory could help us figure out if this is this case.

appreciate any time you spend on this!
