Browser plus will not install

Hi! I have been trying to install browser plus for a user at work and have been successful with my own computer and other users but as soon as i try to install on her workstation once the install begins almost immediately it stops and says " install unsuccessful" and it doesn't give an exact reason why the install was unsuccessful, i also tried logging in her workstation as a admin with my windows login and it lets me successfully install, but when she logs on it doesn't show that browser plus was installed and it still wont let her under her login install either. Any advice would help me out a lot.

  • BrowserPlus installations are user-scoped, which is why she doesn't see the install that you've done under your admin account.

    If you don't mind, could you send us the installation log (see http://browserplus.org/docs/FAQ.html#diagn...nstallerProblem for where it's located). These pesky install problems on just some machines are tricky to track down and the logs would help us figure out what's going on.

    I'm seeing a problem with IE8 not connecting to the Internet any more since "attempting" to install Browser Plus. Last IE diagnostics log shows the following:

    info FTP (Passive): Successfully connected to ftp.microsoft.com.
    info HTTPS: Successfully connected to www.microsoft.com.
    warn HTTP: Error 12029 connecting to www.microsoft.com: A connection with the server could not be established

    error Could not make an HTTP connection.

    Firefox 3.6.2 still connects to the Internet. Attempts to attach a file (multiple extensions and small sizes tested) pulls up the Browser Plus install message. Installation appears normal until what appears to be the last screen comes up saying "Just a few more seconds. You don't need to do anything." I've let this go for 10 minutes with no change. Install appears to be hung somehow, but not sure where. BrowserPlusinstaller.log is as follows:

    ....other than the fact that it's tied up in some legal department discussion of just what yahoo want;s from me, as in a counter as to how many people are using their product, etc. and on and on.

    What I do know is that it doesn't work, I can't get it loaded (it's time out feature is a classic after about 45 seconds) and I now am reduced to wondering just how you're so concerned about spyware legalize when the stupid product doesn't download. and I can't use my my attachment feature?

    How about a place I can go to with a real person that i can really speak to to solve my problem? Please run that by the legal team on the way to the customer care department which is down the hall from the corner windowed office of the VP AND GET ME SOME FRIGGIN HELP
