Sending emails

I would like to express my disatisfaction with the recent requirement to input the character recognition everytime I send an email.
Email is supposed to be a quick form of communication and having to do this evertime is frustrating as it usually requires at least three attempts to copy the illegible characters. You say it is required to stop spammers yet I still receive spam on a daily basis so the question is does it work.

I don't know who invents these ideas but surly the emphasis should be on making the process faster and easier I wonder how many people think this is an effective process and would like to see it ended.
