Domain Verification Failed
There was an internal error while an application is being created. Please try again.

Pretty annoying. I've had nothing but trouble working with all of your SDK's. You need more PHP documentation. Also, you should pay some poor schlep to go through all your old documentation for stuff that's "going away" (like the Address Book API) and put notes in it, with links to the new services.

  • Are you seeing that error while creating our OAuth application? If so, what domain / app url are you trying to verify when you see this?

    To address your other concerns, the majority of our documentation has some sort of PHP sample associated with it for creating YAP applications on the system (see http://developer.yahoo.com/yos/code_exs/ and http://developer.yahoo.com/yos/tutorials/) - is there a particular piece of the documentation that you have issue with? If so, please let us know and we will take a look into adding additional support.

    Regarding the address book api, we within YDN don't have details on any migration process dates, so we did not want to display information without any date context. There is a recommendation on the address book api page (http://developer.yahoo.com/addressbook/) to use the Contacts API for read only access to the address book (it's at the top under the first paragraph).

    If there are specific issues that you are experiencing we'd be glad to help you in any way we can.

  • The domain I'm trying to verfiy is http://www.5ology.com/

    I upload the file containing the string of characters, named as requested, and click Verfiy, and that is the message I get back.

  • Thanks Chris - we're working on this issue and attempting to find a reason / workaround behind these verification failures. I'll post something to the boards once I know more.

  • I did another test, this time with the domain fiveology.com, since I know sometimes servers, especially Unix systems, have trouble with numbers appearing first in filenames, passwords, etc.

    Using the domain name spelled out (fiveology.com versus 5ology.com) I was able to successfully generate an OAuth API key.

    Is it possible to update your system so I can use the number-first domain (5ology.com) instead of the spelled out domain, I get the feeling this is going to wreak havoc with cookies, etc.

  • I got the same problem, when i tried to register a domen which name starts with a digit...

    As far as I understood, I am not able to use Yahoo OAuth then ? I am not able to change the domain name.

     I am also unable to verify my domain......I have followed the instructions but always get the message

    www.bagsnrags.co.uk

    I have had no problem with Bing or Google ????

  • i solve my problem creating the file totaly empty in another editor and make sure the file have 0 bytes.

    I hope this info helps someone.
