is there any way to get primary login id without creating a session and getting user logged in?

hi,i have downloaded social php sdk (http://developer.yahoo.com/social/sdk/php/) and got it to workso i can now access contacts of a user and get their yahoo id's . what i want now is to get yahoo id of current user (logged in using OAuth) .i can get GUID of current user with this:

$session->getSessionedUser()->getProfile()

but i want yahoo id (for messenger) of this user. how can i get that ?

Can this be automated? Meaning, I just want to find out uid of a Yahoo email within my program (not web based). Do I still have to go through OAuth? If yes, can I do OAuth without requiring user login? I have been trying to get this to work for a while without any success. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am having problems trying to get an email handle when executing the following YQL statement:

select * from social.profile where guid=me;

select * from social.profile where guid=me;

With your user's permission, you can read and write their Profile information that is marked as either public, shared with Connections, or private. Write access to Contact information is excluded."

..and therefore I expect my email to be available even though it is set to Share with no one. Is this a valid assumption or does the Share with have to be set to "Everyone" in order for someone with Read/Write Public and Private to access it?

I'm following OAuth Authorization Flow (http://developer.yahoo.com/oauth/guide/oauth-auth-flow.html) and everything is fine except the last step (http://developer.yahoo.com/oauth/guide/oauth-make-request.html). I tried a lot of ways to generate signature base string and actual signature, but every time I got this HTTP header:
WWW-Authenticate: OAuth oauth_problem="signature_invalid", realm="yahooapis.com"

I'm using ASP.NET web-application (C#) to make requests to Yahoo. I call the following URL:
http://social.yahooapis.com/v1/user//profile?format=json
where is user's GUID fromhttps://api.login.yahoo.com/oauth/v2/get_tokenrequest

I call that URL with Authorization HTTP header as described in OAuth Make Request documentation. I use Token Secret from get_token request.
My Authorization HTTP header has data similar to this:

Hello. Our application can not get all contacts, by using($contacts=$oauthapp->getContacts();)
It shows me only contacts i manualy treated in yahoo contacts, but not imported ones from facebook.

What problem can it be?

PS. using php library yahoo.inc, and have extended keys for contacts.

For my app, users started reporting this as well, then all was normal again.  Not sure why.  When those users tried later, they could proceed without needing a code.

I used the YOSSession to do OAuth and would like to use the OAuth token to read the users mail with the Yahoo! Mail API.

i.e.
Can I do something like this using the YOSSession with a YOSSession:

I would like to know if there is a way to use the Yahoo Social Directory API over https to provide a better security to the users of my application. Using http may indeed expose requests to packets sniffing.

The reason for the missing location is because the field that you will need to request within profile details is CURRENT_LOCATION (noted here: http://code.google.com/apis/opensocial/doc...RRENT_LOCATION).

Here's an example of collecting the location of the user. I just ran this code base just to verify that it works correctly and I saw my location in the response:

i got a problem. How do i make this work.

1. user sign in from my page with Yahoo
done
2. so i check and he has the app in his application list
done
3. user delets the application from his application list
done
4. on a refresh i need to get some kind of permissions of the application, or the application status on the user so i can see if he still has the application. I need to sign him off at this point
