consumer key vs Application Id

Hi,
Should i be using Application Id or the consumer key for appId

You should use the API key (also known as appid) that is generated using https://developer.apps.yahoo.com/dashboard/createKey.html. You should select the Access Scope for public APIs and Web Services.
