Will PlaceFinder continue after September 13 ?

Will PlaceFinder be affected by the shutting down of Yahoo Maps Web Services on September 13, 2011 ?

And if yes, is there an equivalent service offered by Nokia ?

Thank you for your answer,

Philippe

  • Looks like it remains

    Quote from release:
Along with the Maps API, several supporting APIs will also die. Remaining geo APIs are the Yahoo Placefinder API, Yahoo Placemaker API and Yahoo Local Search API.

  • PlaceFinder is unaffected by the shutdown of the Yahoo! Maps APIs (including the Yahoo! Maps Geocoding API).  Users of the Yahoo! Maps Geocoding API will need to migrate to PlaceFinder if they wish to continue receiving geocoding services.

  • Looks like Yahoo! Maps Geocoding API was finally taken offline on the 20th.
