Throttling?

Hi,
I am using the geocoding placefinder api to geocode addresses for my map, however, when i have a fair amount of requests (due to users), it seems to slow down extremely. I read that it is limited to 50k requests per day, which I should be well under -- is there a maximum number of requests per second to the api then that I need to meet, and is it possible that I am being throttled?

Thanks.

  • I'd love to see an answer to this as well. The threads in this forum seem to show a lot of views but not many replies... A little frustrating.

PlaceFinder Web Service is not intended for batch geocoding. We prevent abuse of PlaceFinder by restricting the number of requests per second from each user. A rate of one request per second should not trigger our abuse prevention protocols and still allow users to make 50,000 requests per day.
