Is there a way to request rate limit status via the API

Is there any way to get rate limit status via the api? Something similar to the twitter api rate limit status http://dev.twitter.com/doc/get/account/rate_limit_status

We currently do not offer this information via an API, but I will add it to our enhancement request list. Thanks for the suggestion!
