identifying a user yahoo answers

Hi, I've found how to get all answers based on a Yahoo Answers user_id, eg:
http://answers.yahooapis.com/AnswersServic...de3849c7aff85aa

But now I need to validate that the user who tells me they have this user_id is really that user. How can I do this with PHP? Is there any easy way to link their Yahoo email address to the Yahoo Answers user_id?

You could run a GUID identity lookup for the yid using YQL. For instance - using a user id from the XML you provided I made the following request for the user GUID: http://developer.yahoo.com/yql/console/?q=...7footynutguy%27

The REST request is provided in the console and all you will need to do is make that call in a cURL request.
