Yahoo's OpenID service enables websites authenticate Yahoo users, but does not allow websites to access a Yahoo user's address book. You'll need to use BBAuth to get authorization credentials to access the Yahoo Address Book.

The Yahoo Address Book API is documented here:
http://developer.yahoo.com/addressbook/

There is no Javascript API to access Address Book. You'll need to use BBAuth to get the BBAuth credentials, and then generate HTTP requests from your webserver from your webserver to the Yahoo Address Book server. There's no way for you to do it from the browser using Javascript.

I am having trouble with Yahoo two fold.

1. I set up an Open ID account through Yahoo; but, when I've tried using it for Live Journal, I'm advised that I'm using an older version of Open ID not supported by Yahoo, even though I just set up the Open ID account.

2. It does not remember My Yahoo ID and password with the latest version of Firefox. I do not clear cookies when closing Firefox.

Setting up Yahoo! OpenID account will allow you to use other
web sites that support OpenID 2.0 such as www.plaxo.com, jyte.com
and etc. If the web site supports OpenID 1.1 such as livejournal.com,
then you cannot use your Yahoo! OpenID there.

what's the meaning of “ Warning: This website has not confirmed its identity with Yahoo! and might be fraudulent. Do not share any personal information with this website unless you are certain it is legitimate.” ?
my web site can't get any info from yahoo after i press the "continue" button.
