OpenID 2.0 - Bugs

Hi,

my experiences with the stability of the OpenID 2.0 API is somehow frustrating, because it does not work continously.
Sometimes I do have a working environment, at least to use OpenID2.0 without extensions, but since 2 1/2 days I am simply getting a
meaningless error, which is also not propagated via API or status codes but is covered in the HTML body.

I could only recommend all other developers to postpone their support for using or integrating YAHOO OpenID.
May be the development of the extension attributes or some operations on the YADIS protocol are causing some
problems.
However I did not expect that the basic services of OpenID 2.0 are not working over such a long period of time,
this indicates to me that this API has not even reached the beta status or priority/ attention or monitoring is not given at
YAHOO.

Thus we are not going forward to use YAHOO as an OpenID 2.0 provider within these early stage, because no user would accept and understand these problems and might blame our site for this problem as well.

It would be much better to receive a more honest status declaration from Yahoo about their plans and status in Open ID than in
finding it out by using it.

However the other players with comparable systems and better integration do provide stable interfaces, I did some good experience with Google, AOL (AIM,...). Even better is the support for the other deeper integrated identity platforms like Facebook Connect or MySpace OpenID.

However, I would like to integrate Yahoo as well, so please Yahoo announce a roadmap or label this service with an adequate status.

Cheers
Siegmund
