Yahoo! Connected TV is designed to bring the best of the web to the big-screen in a way that makes the most sense to TV viewers. We have found that navigating, viewing and consuming content on a browser from the TV is not the most user friendly experience. The Y! Connected TV platform is open to developers to create and publish applications however, browsers are not supported. We continue to push the hardware, software and user experience to the limits and look forward to the exciting future of connected TV.
That is a load of crap. It may not be a user friendly experience for your elderly customers, but those of us who can in fact use super complicated things such as microwaves and toasters, would like to be able to have a browser. What is the point of having a "Connected TV" if you cant do the most basic thing of opening a webpage?
