My question is about my thesis. I am trying to getting json format from yahoo music then I will parse it. A search engine that works on titles of the music and give details about the that title. I am trying to do it with json. Anyone can help me or where can i find a good source?

May be there is some problem.

There are some sites which are giving away pirated MP3s for free. Some songs are playing fine but others are playing laudar. Is there anyway I can use the API to get the required sound effect for my customized Music Player??

I have to develop an application and I have to populate a database with "realistic" data about songs (title, duration), album(title, year, url) and artist(name).

I tried to read the documentation but I can't figure how to generate a "semi-random" choice. What I want is something like:

select * from music.release.search(x,x+100) where keyword like '%'


But a similar query is not accepted by the system because keyword want an "=" and not a "like". I tried also to perform the following query:

http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql?q=select * from music.release.search(1000,1200) where keyword = '*'

is the allmighty one that is yahweh who can help you to achieve your aim

Going on a full year and we are still unable to pull the music user id for the current user. This is needed for ALL personal calls. What gives? Can we get an answer?

Hi - I was hoping to find (in the yahoo music api or elsewhere) a way to access sample mp3 urls that I could utilize in a flash project of mine. Is there a way to access the MP3s that play on yahoo's artist pages, or some way to integrate the rhapsody player but with my own skin, or even somewhere else on the web I can crawl for mp3s of any given artist? I've been using YQL to obtain usable XML for each artist.

How would you write a YQL query to find radio stations in a specific city.

I am using yahoo Artist service(Artists for a category), but I am unable to retrieve all artists for a particular category .Like when I am sending "http://us.music.yahooapis.com/artist/v1/list/category/39469134?appid=[yourapplicationidhere]", only 12 artists are coming up and rest are missing like Lionel Hampton ID=250847.
Is there any other way around?
Also is it possible to retrieve all the artists present in the yahoo database?

Any Suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

What is the max rate that music api queries can be made.
Is it limited by IP?

I used Yahoo in 1997 quite often, It seemed so easy. Maybe I am a half-wit, but all I want is an API key to activate Yahoo's services on my account. For some reason there are site's that make this real simple and some that piss me off enough that I finally am taking out on what used to be my #1 site of choice. I will not promote any other site, but come on guys, the ball is dropped, get back to simple so us idiots can figure it out too....

Does anyone know how to search tracks and return the results in order of popularity? If I've got an artist id, I can use the toptracks response to get a list of tracks by that artist ordered by popularity. But if I'm just searching by track name, how would I get the results in order of popularity?

The terms of service for the music API indicate that it is only for non-commercial use. Am I able to use the API to load results into Freebase, Wikipedia, or another CC-BY-licensed application?

I'm kind of done with launchcast/yahoo music, been using last.fm mostly these days which is where I hope to find a way to import my ratings once I can get them out of yahoo music/launchcast so I don't think I'll be rating anything more on the site. Thanks for the suggestion though, atleast I know i wasn't missing anything with trying to pull the data.

Hi, I'm at loss, spent the last hour or so clicking link after link going through the api and yql links and i can find no example that will let me pull my music ratings.
Any idea's how I can query this?

I am looking for the first time at the music API. It seems somewhat lacking in how to link information. I can get artist by name or id. From there I can get a list of releases. I have no idea how to go further to get tracks for a release. Seems to be a missing API call to get tracks by release Id.

I have seen a couple of items in this forum show another method of the API but I can find no documentation for this.

I have a requirement in ASP.NET, How can we handle printer functions (Who is printing, What is printing, when is printing,)..... the printers will be in different location in the network(Printers connected to System and Network printer) and we have to update the printer functions in a DB... and show the information in a Web enabled Solution..... For updating the info into DB shall be in any language.... the main issue here is i should install the service in only in one system that system should pass all the printer info to DB. Is it Possible..... Please any one can advise me.........
